We take the shortest path. Sometimes even: a shortcut. We arrive at our destination faster.

Sometimes a gigantic log is in the middle of the path. So we look, we study the terrain, the slope. We estimate the strength of the branches, we feel the echo of the torrent gushing below more strongly.

Then the detour begins. At first a disruptor of plans. Even a frightening travel companion... Of that trail I was following, known, planned and predictable, nothing remains. But the discomfort slowly gives way to other perspectives.
